What weight gear oil should I be using in my '34 for the rear end and transmission? Currently I am using 140 weight, but I have heard it shoud be 90 or or even 600 weight. What is correct? Thanks guys.
I can't answer your question with authority, but Model A's use 600 weight oil in the diff and trans. It is easy to get confused on the grading of oils.Perhaps some other members such as Lyle can help.He works at a refinery down the street from my shop. James
use 140w in the rear, if you live in a real cold climate use 90w in winter , 140w in summer for trans, 140w in trans in real cold weather makes the trans hard to shift untill you drive 5 miles or so, after that the oil warms up and will shift normally
