trans swap

Have a S T 10 Borg Warner 4 speed and want to install into a 302 Ford engine, where can I buy an adapter, if possible. Thanks

You may not need an adapter, just a stock bellhousing.

Not that familiar with T-10's, but they probably had the early bolt pattern on the case. The bottom holes in the trans should bolt up to the bell, the top holes are not as wide as the bell. You will have to drill and tap new holes in the bell housing if there is enough meat there (not sure about the aluminum bells).

If you can get a early 6 bolt bellhousing you may be lucky and find that all the bolt holes are the same (Not sure about this though).

There may be some issues with the input shaft length and the front bearing retainer which should not be a major problem.

This is based on my experience in adapting a top loader to a Y Block bellhousing which is some what different.

Some T-10s have both patterns , if yours is that way it will fit a lot of different ford vehicals. The last one i had was that way it was made for the 64 falcon /comet , later they dropped the old pattern off . The top loader was done the same way for a few years. During the same early years Ford made a dual pattern clutch housing for the small block too. I had one that was a aluminum , i have never seen a cast iron one but they may be some . Anyhow the T-10 is an easy bolt in fit to the 302 .
Where are you located ? I have 2 clutch housings flywheels and clutches for that engine. One is a 67 mustang aluminum , flywheel , spacer plate , clutch arm, bearing, disk and p-plate . The other one is a 79 F-100 cast iron complete .__:)

if your t10 has the early bolt pattern it will not bolt to a 302 bell.none of the holes come close.i done a swap like this and just drilled out the bell and bolted it together as the bell was to thin for tapping at those points used it in a 57.
