Trans shift rod leak 40 Coupe

The seals have been replaced and everything was cleaned up but getting an occasional drop of oil. Anyone run into this before or have a suggestion? Could it be that the cover, rods or the shafts are worn and need to be replaced?

Will live with it for now but if anyone has a cover for sale, let me know.

Thanks

You may have some worn shafts there that are beyond the wear point for the seals. A good visual & dimensional inspection should reveal any problems. You might contact Mac VanPelt and see if he has some parts that are in better shape or maybe a rebuilt cover assembly. Synthetic rubber products are good for about 10 to 20 years depending on the type of elastomer they are made from. New seals should hold the lube it unless you are using a modern synthetic lubricant that is not compatible with the old type seal materials or possibly a lower than normal viscosity lubricant.

If my old antique vehicles don't mark their spot, I suspect there is not enough lubricant in the right places.
