Tractor Supply 6 volt battery

I just bought a 6V car battery at O'reilleys auto parts. They list for $94 and if you have a friend that has a commercial account to get one for you it will come down to $75. Only a year warranty though.

What is O'Reilly's part number?

I have no idea. I just asked at the desk about 6v batteries and they had 2 on the rack. I looked for my receipt after you asked this question and I can't find it. I hope I don't need it for a warranty problem.

Crown battery in Fremont Ohio make 6 volt, 2 or 3 different cca, not sure on numbers.
Used them since my first car & still do.

RK still carries them in the Knoxville and Maryville stores, a group 1 and 2 sizes. Apparently they just do not ship them anymore for online purchases.

Keep tryin' guys; I'm sure that you can come up with a good enough reason to not buy an Optima.

I bought an Oreilly's 6 volt lead acid battery 2 years ago for my '46 and it was the same size as original type. The part # was SSB - 2. (cca 675) $97.99. Very pleased with performance.

I went in to Autozone with my battery to get it charged and tested. There were two guys at the parts counter, one about 35 yrs old and the other about 25. So the 25 yr old guy says, nope it's bad. It is only showing 6.5 volts. I said; then why is it bad. He said duh, that's way too low for a 12 volt battery. Astonished, I replied....IT IS A 6 VOLT BATTERY. He asked.....This is not for a car then, is it? Yes, I replied. He asked....what kind of car is it? 1955 Ford Fairlane, I replied. It went on and on, but long story short, neither of the parts counter guys knew that cars had 6 volt electrical systems in the past. The 25 yr old guy said...we don't sell 6 volt batteries here. I could see two 6 volt batteries on the battery shelf and I pointed them out to him. These two here ARE 6 volt batteries. I fear for the future of our country.

Yup, Try being in a classroom with these dudes trying to make them understand how a torque wrench works, or a battery tester. Gulp.
