ABV.156 hub puller say on box Winfield Tool Works

What do yawl think would be a safe torque to take it up to? I would hate to mess it up first day. I called winfield but no one to take the call down early maybe.

If theirs is as good as the original KRW tool you will not break it. Mine came from an old Ford dealership and had evidence of great torque on the nut and terrific pounding on the end of the nut. I have had to duplicate that force over the years and it only shows as cosmetic damage to the nut end.

I use a 14" heavy box wrench and hit the end with a dead blow hammer. Pops the hub every time, no problem.

I have REALY beat mine with a lot of force, pulling a rear drum off of a 40's Lincoln... Maybe a 3' bar, jumping on it . Who knows, 450+ foot pounds? ...With heat, using a BFH on the end. Would NOT let go... So, I took a disc and cut a slot in the hub outside of the key as far in as I could without hitting anything important... THAT did it...

So, I lube the threads with chassis grease and go til I get it... Point is, mine is the reproduction KR Wilson and I don't think that I can break it...

Thanks to all, that one came at about 250 or so not near as bad as some I see some of you post on here, just hope the other one is the same.
This is on a 39 Ford

This puller came from Bratton's I needed some Model A stuff so just got it all from them. It don't have anything where it was made Has KRW ASV-156 WINFIELD TOOL WORKS, FORD WHEEL PULLER cast in each half. Winfield is in Port Jefferson, NY Only has a PO Box and a phone No so it looks like they may just buy from china and resale with no address or Web address.

Thanks to all of you.
