Are there any tricks to applying vinyl top dressing? I'm thinking just brush it
on with a china bristle brush.

What is the vinyl top dressing? Where can I get it? I've used something like Armor-all but after I put it on, I got caught in the rain and it ran all over the car. What's the best to use?

#3..... It's a black liquid product similar to very thin paint that you apply to the vinyl top
to waterproof and seal it .It comes in quarts from any ''A'' vendor.

I'm thinking of more a preservative like an enhancers or a tire dressing so nix the sponge idea cause I'm not sure. The instructions on the "new top in a bottle / can" may tell you the best way

#5..I just applied it with a china bristle brush because the product is oil based. An edging brush along the trim and a 5'' flat for the rest.

I tried the top dressing on my old leaky roof. It did not stop the leaks so I painted it with semi gloss latex and that has fixed the leaks.

Last year I bought a armor all type product at boating supply company. It's water proof. And it lasted all summer. I ran out of it last year I need to buy more but the top still looks pretty good. But dam l can't remember the name of it. Maybe someone here can help out with the name.

John, could it have been 303 Aerospace Protectant? Best product I've ever used for vinyl. All the shine without the slime

#9...It's called ''Vinyl Top Dressing'' or just top dressing. It comes in quarts. Mac's has it
for $36.00 or so. I got mine at Little Dearborn in Minneapolis but can't recall what I paid.
