top trim painting

I am refinishing the rain gutter moulding on my 29 std coupe. I was going to have it sandblasted and powdercoated. Will it still snap together okay or should the top piece be painted on the car after it is snapped in place?
Can I do the same with the repo trim front and rear trim once I have it bent to the roof configuration? Thanks
 
The powder coating may add thickness you don't want when trying to snap them together again. I pre-painted mine black then installed them with a block of wood and a hammer. Then I touched them up with a rattle can after all was good.
 
i sandblasted and painted mine. the powder coat guy i use was afraid of the high temperature and melting them. i installed them without making a mark no touch up required. i tapped them on with the palm of my hand..
