A response to the two questions: The wood and metal pieces over the windshield. I don’t know how and what after a long down time and complete body off rebuilding.

It is a 1928 Sport Coupe

Wow, disassembling my piece, across the windshield did not look like your picture. I can’t figure out how to install new wood and prep for a new top.
