Can anyone help with what the correct tools are (and pictures) for a 1953 Ford F100 factory supplied tool kit? Have the jack and handle but need to know other items. Assume pliers, monkey wrench, screw driver, open end wrenches, but now sure exactly which ones. Thanks, Tom

FoMoCo was winding down the tool kits by around 1950. When Henry was alive, they all had a tool kit but after he died, they only supplied necessary equipment to change tires and the like. They may have added them in on request as an accessory for a fee though. I remember one of my Pop's old bonus built F5 trucks circa 1949, had the jack equipment, lug wrench equipment, a fire extinguisher, and a road flare canister (smudge pot type). My Pop said that it came with all that stuff when he bought it. Knowing my Dad though, he probably bought it lightly used since I don't remember reading anywhere about them coming with the fire extinguisher and the road flare.

Lin Stacey--google him. He can give you facts as to what tools, if any, were offered with your Ford. Some items, as stated, were available from the dealer.

From what I've researched in the Ford Parts & Accessories catalogs, they were offered as individual pieces only. The smudge pot was not Ford. Ford offered a reflector set that went in the tool tray, it had 3 reflectors in a tin box embossed with the Ford logo. They folded up to store in the box. They also had 3 little red flags that went on the reflector. Mine are missing. If you have a set of 48-55 parts catalogs, the stuff is listed in 17000 and 18000 sections. The 48-56 sets, released as a final edition , do not list the stuff. They were long obsolete by that time.
I have a jack, folding jack handle, lug wrench, screwdriver and monkey wrench, spark plug wrench and 4 or 5 open end wrenches. All are embossed with the Ford script . I need the pouch for the tools to go in. They're being made in repo now.
