Tool locations

My 1933 Cabriolet has a pocket in the rumble sear area that is for tools. The pouch, filled with some tools, will fit inside the pocket. My question is: where was the Jack, Jack handle, crank handle/wheel wrench & crank handle stored when she left the factory.

My 1936 Phaeton has no place other behind the rear seat for them to just bounce around scratch up everything.

John,

Don't know about your Phaeton, but my '36 Roadster had room for tools under the seat in addition to the pocket in the rumble. Can't speak for the Cabriolet.

Model 40 coupes and roadsters had a wooden box hanging off the right side vertical support in the trunk. Not sure about the cabrio's, but I would guess they had it too.

The Model 51 trucks (1935-36) have an open space created by a 6" tall metal divider spotwelded to the floor providing a 6" x 6" open top cab-width "tray" behind the seat. The small tools came in a leatherette pouch just like with a car's had and there was also a big burlap sack for the remaining big truck tools. I imagine they would all slide around across the floor in this space.

The Cabriolet tools are stored under the seat if you do not have a wooden tool box. The wooden tool box started about May of 33 and eliminated in March of 35. The 33-34 wooden tool boxes are different than the 35 version.
