tool checks?

Has anyone seen tool checks like these? Where do they come from? Dave

Never seen that type before. Look very early to me.

I'm pretty sure those are Ford Property tags from the Model T era. They were used on office items (desks,chairs,etc.) and shop equipment (work tables, cabinets, machine tools.) They were usually riveted in place. Large company's do the same today.

Thank You ! I know they have smooth edge oval Brass tags now and have never seen any like these before. Dave
