Today's Surprise !!

Beautiful truck . . . the best looking of all the 30's Fords in my mind! If you ever get tired of it, keep me in mind! LOL

Very nice, however, a chrome grill does not a Deluxe make. I'll take it.

I think Lawson might be able, if anyone can, to provide this info. If only the "powers that be" wouldn't have stymied the book he and Jerry Grayson were working on. My 36 has a banjo steering wheel, a chrome windshield frame and a sliding rear window. It is hard to tell what might have been changed after 86 years. The last owner had it for 30 years and believe the owner before him did a "somewhat" restoration.

If I had not sent everything I had to Don Rogers some 25 years ago, I would be able to give you all of the "extras" that were included in the DeLuxe package, but my memory fails me here. I can only think of the Chrome grill, chrome windshield frame, sliding rear window, and dual windshield wipers and dual Deluxe chrome horns. I believe the Banjo steering wheel was in the package as well. Perhaps Don or someone else will chime in here and help you out with everything that was included in the "Deluxe Package". Lawson

Four years later and I drove it home. I had forgotten about it and last week "voila" my hunt is over. I was getting a bit "stale" but feel like I have a new lease on life with plenty to do in the cold of Iowa winter.

Maybe it was owned by a FIRE DEPARTMENT when new. Many 1930s Ford fire engines had chrome plated grilles and hoods as well. Regards, Kevin.

The previous owner had told me 4 years ago, when I first saw it, that the mileage of 41k was original. If indeed it was a Fire Department vehicle, the mileage story might indeed be correct. Would be great but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. I believe the 21 stud engine to be 37/38 as the water pumps are on the heads with block off plates below.

I hope you are wrong as well

My 25 year old son seems to have the bug . One of my friends sold him a rolling 1929 Austin 7 chassis All the mechanicals have been done So all he really needs to do is put everything on a long wheel base chassis and build a speedster body for it . My friend sold it to him cheap (and I advanced the cash ) to foster his interest . My son is pretty mechanically challenged and because he is left handed every thing looks awkward -but he is learning rapidly - Nice to see Karl

Left handed people are smarter.

Thanks for the last comment ! You might try to set me straight then. I write with my left and some with right hand, eat with my right, shoot a hand gun with left, rifle and shot gun right shoulder and bowl left. Always handy on construction jobs when reaching around a corner to nail something that was hard to do for a right handed guy !
