I have been working on this 40' Lincoln zephyr/Continental the last few days. the owner is getting ready to market it,so I have been fixing a few things as well as color sanding and buffing it. Looks to have been restored about 10-15 years ago, still a nice car though! I need to locate a passenger side door handle and trunk latch as they are damaged. any Zephyr experts out their?? I have a few questions about some things on the fire wall that are possibly missing.

Can you post a few photos of the firewall? That would make it easier to determine if things are correct and/or missing, etc. We have a '39 LZ and, even though there are a few things different on the firewalls of the '39 LZ and '40 Continental, I may be able to help. That '40 Zephyr Continental Cabriolet is a real beauty. Vic

here's a picture of the fire wall I took today. In the picture you can see a large hole aprox 2 1/2'' in diameter with four small bolt holes. I noticed the car does not have a heater and was wondering if that was something to do with it?? also large grommet on the left side that has nothing going through it?? any help will be appreciated! Jonathan

The large hole in the firewall is for a hot air heater inlet. On the interior of the firewall there should be metal tubing going to the defroster vents under the dash as well as heat/air oultets (in the '39 LZ the heat outlest are in the center console). The small hole with the rubber gromet is (I think) for the heater blower motor wiring, etc.
