To replace the fan

For us rookies, what is the quick thing to look for to see if I have an original 2 blade, or a later aluminum 2 blade? I'm assuming a spot weld, but are they easily visible, where can I check the easiest?

Use a magnet...no stickum.. its.aluminum....stickum..its .steel....

If steel...replace it or get ready to buy hood, radiator, and more.

Shoot, that was simple. Sometimes the smartest people don't think of the simplest things...so us dumb ones need even more coaching! :) So all steel is bad. Thanks! Tom

Change it !!!!!

Approx. 3 months ago I wiped out a radiator and hood top when my original fan decided it preferred to become two pieces while I was traveling about 45 MPH. Been using originals fans for many years so I guess the odds were against me. Never again, only for show; I now have new aluminum fans on both my drivers.
