Tires on a Project

Good Morning All. Finally putting wheels and tires back on my 30 Tudor so I can roll in and out of the shed to work on. My shed (which is basically a very large enclosed carport) just has a dirt floor so when I put it back in and it is going to be a little while before I roll it back out should I put it back up on stands. Could I roll it back up onto wood or cement blocks to keep it off the dirt? I thought it would help the tires last longer and avoid damage to them. The floor does get damp when it rains and the tires are just rollers not a new set. It maybe a little extra work for me but anything I can do to make stuff last longer helps my wallet.

If you layed down plastic then covered it with some old free carpet, that would help keep moisture from coming up from the ground. It also makes it nice to lay on while working on the car.

Tom does have a good idea. Too bad I still have to jack it up to get my fat old butt under it to work on. Still think I will start looking for some carpet.

you might use Tom's idea and then put railway ties down and drive the car onto the ties. That would give you another 8 to 10 inches of crawl space. Wayne
