Tires on 1936 model 68

i've noticed that as long as a rim is considered wide enough for its tread width, that for safety and liability reasons, manufacturers simply do not make a tires with sidewalls that are too tall for their width. of course, as always, i could be wrong about that. :)

but if i've got it right, here's a link to a site with more information on tread width vs rim width only. there's a chart in it that may be helpful.

although i have to admit i've been known to push the limits of sidewall height to rim width from time to time...and touching toads without ill effects, swimming immediately after eating, and on occasion removing warning tags from mattresses.
