Getting ready to buy 6 new 19" tires. I will get blackballs which will be mounted on black powder coated wheels. This car will be driven. In the past, I have used coker's economy tires, but they seem to wear out too quickly.

Re: Tire Advice

I have 4 new Universal from Mike's in Georgia and they made my '31 Tudor drive like a different car! Only have a few hundred miles on them so I don't know about the wear, but they surely do drive and ride nicely! And I like the looks of the black-walls; they seem to make the tires look more substantial for some reason.

I went all out and got 5 Goodyear blackwalls. I really like the ride and wear I'm seeing so far, but I've only got about 780 miles on them. Yes they are more spendy but I'm confident you would not be disappointed. Authentic tread and Made in the USA.

I had a set of the Firestone 19" on my roadster and in 10 years I got a little over 19,000 miles out of them. On my 29 pick up I have over 5,000 miles on the Universal tires you listed, and they seem to be wearing O K so far. At almost half the price of Firestone's, the Universals so far seem to be the beat deal. The tread looks the same and they ride fine.

I also recently put new Goodyear blackwalls on my 1930 Town Sedan, and noticed an immediate improvement in both the ride and handling....car wanders much less than before, especially over uneven tar strips. They are more expensive, but I am very please so far!

I always run Goodyear on my 31 tudor 39,000 on them, then at 40,000 they were just for local drive. I run Firestone on 29 roadster but it only gets about 3,0000 miles a year where the tudor gets about 13,000 per year. The goodyear are a little pricey but I think you get your money's worth. have fun modelAtony Lafayette, LA
