timing/running issues with `30 A sedan

Well it`s spring so for the umpteenth time I`ve tried to get my A(with original style ignition components) to run better with new plugs, points etc and still I have the same issues: it starts and idles fine but really hesitates on acceleration and just is way to "logey". I`ve timed it my father`s way, the method found in my restoration manual and the method in Mike`s Affordable catalog but still it ain`t right. Any suggestions would be really appreciated(also tried switching carbs) Thanks for taking a look, Al:(

If it lacks power I would suspect the timing is retarded. When I get done timing mine I start it and advance the lever then bring it back to retard and observe what the rpm drop is, if it drops a lot I stop it and rotate the rotor maybe 1/16" ccw then try it again. I look for a slight idle speed drop between full advance and retard, if there is still power loss I would look at fuel flow or carburetion.

Try a new cap/Rotor.? Could be cracked?Just do one thing at a time till you find the problem! Also check the cap/rotor gap .025 all stops. and the point gap. Keep us posted!!Might check the fuel line going into carb restricting fuel flow?

Well I replaced points, condensor and plugs, timed it (thanks for tips) cleaned zenith carb and went for a ride. A little better but when going along on level road at 35-40 mph if I give it gas I still get a "eh" response.Does this sound like carb or timing issue =which(and what)_ should I try first? By the way it was a beautiful day in upstate NY so we had a great ride anyway!
