Hi
I,ve been having timing issues for the past couple of months which is now so bad the car will only start and run for a few seconds. My 29 Sedan has a 12v FSI Electronic distributor so no points to worry about.I have fitted a new aluminium timing gear, set top dead centre then aligned the distributor to #1 plug, the car will start immediately but then splutter and die!
I then check the timing marks again and rotor arm is no longer pointing at #1 plug at tdc? I would say its moved a 1/4 of a turn, not the distributor beacause I have been locking it with the screw and marking the case.
What could be the cause?
Thanks
Keith
