Tillotson with Accelerator Pump questions.

Hi all,

Just picked up a few new goodies, one of which is a Tillotson Carb that appears to be based in a Zenith style body and sediment bowl, but pot metal not cast, and has an accelerator pump type of linkage below the main throttle linkage.. other than that, it looks just like a pot-metal zenith.

So, before I crack it open, does anyone have any experience with these? Are there rebuild kits available for them? Looks like it would likely run fine, as it appears to be a nos or older rebuild, as there is no evidence fuel was run though it.

Thanks!

I found out there is a nice gasket set available from Smith & Jones. What looks like an accelerator pump is not. I have several of them but have not tried any yet. Others on here know a lot more about them. They have been discussed before.

What appears to be an excellerator pump actually opens a passage way for additional fuel to flow to main jet when full throttle is opened. I have 5 F1B's I have rebuilt and tested a couple on my A and they run fine. Others have said they give real good mileage but I hav not actually had one on my A long enough to determine if mileage is better ?

There are no rebuilt kits for the F1B, only gasket sets.

I took 8 apart and came up with enought complete parts to build the 5 I have.

If someone is in need of some upper or lower housings or misc parts, would be glad to help. Sent me an e-mail if I can help.

Ron
