Tillotson VS. Zenith

After all the recent carb talk, and by buddy trying to decide which to use, I decided to post the question. Tillotson or Zenith: which is best? Why?

I seem to lean towards the Zenith side, but I don't really have a reason why. I know Zeniths were Original to the model A, so does Tillotson bring any added performance?...and if so, does it add problems? I know there will be people on both sides of the fence....thanks for the input.

I have run both with success, Tillostons are prone to warping thus the body can leak fuel (try to find a flat casting with no gap between halves)

Tilly. It is much simpler in design than the zenith. The warping can easily be fixed by sanding/beating with a hammer.

Much easier to restore.

I too have run both of these carbs. I run a Zenith sidebowl because it's correct for the car but the tilitson I ran before was just as good.

All carbys are good provided they are tuned to the mill and in good mechanical condition, just run the one you are most knowledgeable about that has available parts.

Zenith ---only 1 bolt to take apart and clean --on the car, no need to remove whole carb, rarely warps, doesn't care if the gasket is bad.
