Tillotson versus Zenith carburetor

If your gas mileage is that bad here's a couple of things to look at.
How much extra weight / tools and parts, are you carrying in the car?
Tire pressure at 32psi? Toe in correct? And the biggest thing wrong with most of the A's I work on is
Brakes adjusted too tight or 1 wheel is dragging.

I kinda hate to ask, but I need info. I have a B carb on my car. I changed the gross jet it had in it, because I have heard you need the traditional needle setup to get the full performance from a B carb. Guess it is a flow thing.

My float does not like that needle Its fine for a few months. However, every once in a while the carb ends up stilling fuel all over the place. Normally I can tap on the carb, and that solves it. Today it did it again. Took the carb off, and the needle was in the bottom of the bowl. For the time being it has the gross jet back in it. Does anyone sell a gross jet that will flow a decent amount more fuel?

Any thoughts???

It is important to turn off the fuel when parked in case there is a problem with the carburetor. In my opinion there should be plenty of flow with the original float valve. Just make sure the fuel level is correct.
