We stock the parts including the TO bearing hub (the casting that holds the actual TO bearing). You will want to check the fork (the fork ends should be parallel and the curved side of the fork tips should face forward).

Just a wild guess......is the motor by any chance a 49-53 type (ie 8BA) flathead? Are you running the 49-53 clutch which is 9 and a half inch diameter? If so, the problem is the pressure plate on those not running properly against the 39 style TO bearing. If this is the case, new parts will be destroyed also.

Let us all know what is happening.....

59a block
10" clutch
pressure plate

i think i put the housing over the pressure plate on 120 degrees out. at least that is my thought. the ****** spring (at the top) is hitting one of the "fingers" that relaese the pp on the flywheel. im thinkin that is what i did wrong.

Wondering. i have the two pc. oil pan (truck). I think if i open the cover, i should be able to fix this without pulling the rear end or engine? Ill see tomorrow.

thanks for the pics. thats exactly what mine looked like before i broke it.

I doubt if you're going to fix this w/out pulling engine or rear end. The end of trans shaft fits into a pilot brg which is in end of crank. just my thoughts

I agree with Paul,if the hub is broken your gonna have to pull back the rear or pull the mtr. How are you going to slide the hub over the ****** main shaft with out separating them [****** + engine?? ] Cant be done. ken ct.

in process of pulling rear. thanks. coffee break. just hoping i can figure out what happened so it does not do the same thing again.

here are some pics. one shows a pointer to a lip on the shaft (is that ok?) that the to bearing may have gotten stuck on. im wondering if the replacement parts will work. thank u all.

i think the forks were not properly seated and when i pshed the clutch pedal, things spun.....this time i will look inside the cover to make sure things are seated properly.

do any of you see anything that looks screwed up other than that?

thanks all CP :)

In those last 2 pictures it looks like the throw out hub is turned around back to front. Not good enough of a picture to tell for sure and I hope I'm wrong. Just make certain that the throw out fork seats into the two recesses of the TO hub and the plain face of the bearing is facing toward the clutch fingers and make sure I'm wrong.

i agree with rotowrench that whole throwout assembly looks installed backwards, the fork goes behind the throwout bearing not in front..

the fork was behind the to bearing when installed. however i think the linkage had sooo much slop in it that the back of the bearing somehow rotated when installing the emgine and the fork slipped over the slot and the spring must have stretched slightly. then when i started the engine and depressed the clutch, ....all was broke.

anyway, my brother came over today and we installed the new pcs. this time i peeked in after assembly to make sure nothing slipped. anyway all seems well. just need to put the speedo cable back in and throw the floor back together. thank you all.

ill still need to order the spring and hub pc that i broke so i can give them back to my brother.

how far should the clutch pedal go before it depresses the little fingers? half way? the way it is now, my pedal does not spring back to the top like it did before.....

i'm tired.........:)

the clutch pedal should have about 3/4" free travel before the throwout contacts (touches) the fingers on the pressure plate
