Anyone have any ideas on what I can do with a throttle rod that is too long after installing dual 97 carburetors on my 1940 coupe? Thanks in advance!

You can cut the rod, thread each end and install a coupling for final adjustment.

The coupling I used is threaded for 10-24. When you thread the cut ends, be careful that the threading remains concentric. I find that with small thread sizes, the thread can tend to walk to the side giving poor threads on one side and full 180° out. Use the paddles on your die to keep it centered.

Measure the length you need and the diameter of the ball. There are plenty of adjustable rods at places like Summit. NAPA. Speedway etc.

glennpm's idea works for me.
Clean and simple using home made aluminum coupler.
I found I didn't need the lock nuts.
