Throttle Link

My throttle link on the lower steering colum when in the idle (up) position touches the starter rod. Sometimes it unhooks the throttle link on one end. Any solutions out there?
Thanks!

Is it possible that the linkage is slightly bent causing it to slip off? I'd have someone work the lever up and down slowly while observing under the hood to watch it to see exactly where/when it slips off. Also, I'd check the connector where the linkages hook together to make sure that the piece that slips over the ball isn't too loose. JMO.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that you may need to rotate the steering column to move the throttle rod away from the starter rod.

If you have the two tooth steering box as I suspect from the picture of your Coupe, make sure that the steering column cover is "bottomed out" on the gear box. The clamp hides the position of the cover. Just a small distance off may make the difference in the clearance between the starter rod and the throttle rod. As Ted indicated, you can also make finite adjustments of the spark and gas linkage when the clamp is loose. Gar Williams
