Throttle Control Assembly Question

I'm finally getting around the dealing with the slop in my Throttle Control Assembly on my '30 Town Sedan. Here's the issue. I figured there must be repro parts made for it right? Apparently not, since I've scoured the internet and only found some original Throttle Control Assemblies complete, not just the stamped steel Bell Crank that I need. My Bell Crank has worn oval holes in the upper and lower openings, and plenty of slop in the movement. What's the best and easiest plan of attack? Should I just buy another complete assembly and hope it's in better shape than mine? It appears that the earlier Throttle Control Assemblies used a different solid Bell Crank. If possible, I'd like to get the same as I have to keep the correct one on the car. But then if I don't have any alternative, I'd go with the earlier solid type. Suggestions? Thanks. Bob

I have a throttle control assembly that matches yours and the bell crank seems to be in good shape. Has surface rust but not otherwise damaged. I’d sell it for whatever the going rate is for throttle assemblies - can’t imagine it’s that high. PM me your email and I’ll send pictures.

PM sent. Thanks.

Making a bushing and pressing it in would be the cheapest way , bushing made from brass, bronze , or steel could be easily made with minimal tools

Are the Bell Cranks that are solid and the Bell Cranks like mine (the pictured one with two eyes) interchangeable?

When you are all done restoring your throttle control assembly, do this check. By the way, the spring on the assembly is essential to taking-up the slop in the throttle.

I just got mine out. The holes are not bad...but the little shaft it sits on is badly worn. Has grooves where the bearing surfaces touch. I might tap a thin steel bushing down the shaft and drill out the holes to fit it.
