Hello everybody,
I have 3 questions about the parking brake:
1) I suspect that the emergency brake band on my roadster was mounted upside down. When I look at the inside of the brake carrier, I see two "noses". One side is ground smooth and is quite angled 90 °. On the other side, the nose is slanted and a bit round.
I think that the rectangular area has to look inwards, because the nose slides there on the base plate?
Please look both pictures.
2) The parking brake lever is open at the outer end. There must (how?) grease pressed to lubricate the shaft.
On my two waves are only holes, no thread for a lubricating nipple. Is there something missing or how was it smeared there?
(I've now cut a thread and mounted a nipple.)
3) The parking brake is also called emergency brake. The sliding surface of the base plate was bent downwards. Some wrote that happens when the parking brake was used to slow down.
Is this the fault of the wrong assembly or is it really only for emergency use?
I thank you in advance for all hints!
