Think Hershey was small this year

I disagree, every time I take the Model A out on the road, numerous people will beep their horn, or wave to me with thumbs up, and If you park some where you always have people asking questions about the car, and if its ok to take pictures.
Yes . . . to Joe and Jane Sixpack, you're a passing curiosity. There is no depth to their interest. Desire to have and maintain older antique motor vehicles is mostly dying off with the owners. Take a look on YouTube at the videos of antique car meets and club weekend events in recent years. The images show predominantly elderly gray haired people (like me) driving in those cars to the pancake house. Model A Fords probably have the most dedicated following due to many factors including the high car survivor rate, abundance of parts and simplicity of operation. Also too, 21st Century hot rod crowd is keeping the market warmer by buying stock Model A Ford cars and transforming the things into modified and chopped "rats". The story is quite different with very old primitive cars such as Model T Fords that seem to pop up for sale in classified all the time. At least here in the northeast USA, five-grand will get a person an excellent "turn key" black steel "Tin Lizzie". For 1930s, 1940s and 1950s era "non-Ford" cars, it's a total "buyer's market. Even fine condition original fifties American cruisers with lots of heavy chrome are today dregs on the market. There are few tentative buyers with cash in hand for large space eating, maintenance requiring toys. Nearby is a handsome cream puff one owner 51' Pontiac with an asking price of $5,000. This is a deluxe Silver Anniversary edition with that Indian Head hood emblem which lights up at night. Has the dealership papers from 1951 too. Seller called back and said he'd accept an offer as the old Pontiac needs to go. Like many of these deals, the space it occupies is more valuable than the vintage automobile. Though this is a prime automobile of childhood and nostalgia is tugging at my heart strings, like others of my age group, I really should be getting rid of this stuff and not acquiring any more. Looks as if I'll take a pass on the OEM spot light, wide white wall tire equipped two tone Pontiac Chieftain sedan.

Summing it up, there are lots of "antique" cars in increasing numbers all over the place. With fewer tentative buyer - owners, at least for the foreseeable future, most of those automobiles look be hard to sell, lousy investments.

Does anyone know the regulations for getting or using a cart? I was surprised how many young folks were driving around in carts. These same young folks were seen stopping and jumping out of the cart without any limitation what so ever. Some of these carts were totally pimped out, jacked up with aluminum wheels, etc. Had to have cost $20K

I believe some folks are taking advantage of what ever loose regs. there are needed to get a cart. It seems unfair for I'm sure there are those who really need it for legitimate reasons.

I suspect some are taking advantage of this so they can get around a lot quicker and scoop up deals.

Since American Pickers is red hot, seems like every car is now a "barn find". I was amazed on how many super low mileage cars were for sale. Makes we wonder if they are really legit.

That said, I'll be back next year and I'm looking forward to it. It may have been the best year weather-wise in a long time.

I did find a super nice original commercial A shell that was a great deal, so I was happy and walked away in the black from the stuff I did sell.

My problem with empty spaces occupied by cars only is that I must WALK FURTHER to see the same stuff. Walking isn't as easy as in past years.

Tim it continues to get worse. I sit on a Phone Company Board. We were told last week that there is legislation pending, that anyone with the 'I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up' gizmo should be entitled to FREE super fast Broadband Internet. To connect faster. 'Free' mind you. The broadband providers will have to foot the bill.

Can you imagine, just how many lame and lazy so-and-so's will suddenly be buying that thing to get free Internet? I'm sure the company that sells them is behind this. Look how people have abused the Americans With Disabilties Act, you see young (and not as young)spry people of all ages and colors with a handicap parking tag bouncing into the store that walk better than most of us.

They legislate the wrong way. What sounds good becomes, bad. Only if most people were 'entitled' to an antique car, that would be OK:o

In CT in order to get a H/cap sticker you need a "note" from your Dr. I had to "twist" the hip surgeon's arm to get one this time. Ct now regulates how long you can have a permanent card for. Yes, I also see many abuses. How about the h/cap person sitting in the car in a h/cap spot while the able bodied person is in shopping??
