Just push down on the end of the advancing arm and if you can move it down pretty easy you will see the problem if not it must be an issue with just mine. I will be taking it out today and will let you know what I find maybe spring is week?
I agree with Marco that the top plate being a bit thinner shouldn't cause any problem as long as the center hole is snug. Just grease the center hole and slots and I don't see how it could rock or wobble against the spring pressure.
I'd be more worried about the rotor not being balanced. But, I took care of that problem!
