These old Fords will stop,,,

if they need to.. Two elderly ladies quickly stopped right in front of me today for no apparent reason and I wasn't sure I'd find the brake pedal in time.. They just sat there in the road talking so I started to back-up so I could go around them. As I started to pull forward they decided to make a u-turn right in front of me.. These old gals were completely oblivious to what was going on around them. Well, anyway, its a good thing we were all only going about 30 mph at the time.. When asked to do it, These old Fords will slide the tires.

Your nicer then me, I would have been half tempted to open their door, turn off their car and throw the keys as far as I could.

I wouldn't have, but I would have wanted too, badly.

Yesterday a lady flagged me down and said she wanted to take a picture of my car.
Luckily, it was in the neighborhood. She started to jump out of her car and I pointed
out to her that there was a car behind her and that she was blocking the road. She
then pulled forward to let the car pass. I pulled away and then I heard the lady
yelling at me to stop as she huffed and puffed to catch up with me, camera in hand.
Go figure! There are a lot of strange ones out there! A couple of years ago I was
at a traffic light and some guy got distracted when he saw the coupe. He banged
into a truck in the intersection.

I once had a bob-truck full of flower bed mulch, yard tools and ...ahhhh....shall we say..."undocumented landscapers"...plow into a BMW convertible while they were trying to get a look at my Shelby Cobra replica while driving alongside of me in traffic. Threw one of 'em off the flatbed onto the side of the road, too.

I didn't stop... didn't want to get involved...

People are nuts...;)

Have you every noticed that when some one is following or in close proximity to a vintage car all road rules suddenly cease to exist. They will pass you on the inside , round blind bends and despite 500 no passing signs. Hm!

One thing I've noticed, Model A'res dont exactly follow road rules either. Groups of model A's don't stop at stop signs if they know no one is coming. Speed limits don't apply whether they are going way over, or way under the limit. Model A'res just park anywhere. We automatically have the right away if we are in a large group. But, nobody ever gets a ticket, so i guess it's good that we are Model A'res.

Pat,defensive driving is the name of the game.Glad you got stopped in time before you ruffled the old ladies feathers.Just the other day I screeched the tires on mine.Your right sometimes people are oblivious to there surroundings.By the way I sent you a PM I was at Sentimental Journey on Thursday.

Road rules, what are they !!?? Passing on the inside,, I was on the Indian the other day pulling into a parking place in front of the local diner when this yuppie idiot in his BMW passed me on the inside.. I had the presence of mind to kick his left door in with my right foot, he started to stop, thought better of it, and kept going..Its one of few times I've gotten angry..Oh, I forgot, I knew he was behind me and I hand signaled trying to let him know what I was going..This world has some mighty stupid people in it..

Driving the Model A has actaully made me a better driver. It taught me how to read/gauge the stupidity of other drivers before they try to kill me on my motorcycle.

In Chicago one morning this guy was diddling down a two lane Elston Ave at about 10 mph. So I passed him. No sooner did I do that then he steam boated right up behind me and shot around me and pulled back in. We stopped at a red light. Then he jumped out of his car and walked over to the sidewalk and picked-up a piece of broken concrete, up over his head he was heading for my windshield. As I went around him and through the red light I did notice his car creeping out into the intersection. He must have forgotten to put his heap into park!! HA Ha. I took a different route to work for a few days after that...since you'll usually see the same people doing the same route. I had this one lady who I watch put on make-up. She was really cute. One day she started to inch her skirt up and laughed. I think she was flirting...

A lot of young folks don't have any idea of what a hand signal is. Or maybe he was texting or on the phone.
What kind if INDIAN do you have ? An old one ?
