The new one from germany

Welcome to the Ford barn Tommy, you have some nice cars there, we call the four door sedan a blindback or two window sedan. Very nice, glad to have you on board.

NICE Sport Coupe Tommy! Thanks for the pics! And welcome!

Your English is very good not a problem! There's a lot of Americans that I can't understand (especially from the Louisiana area) you have it all over them.

Hi Thomas,

HERZLICH WILLKOMMEN! Euro Model A's are the best! Two of my Model A's have G28T's in them. I also have a Drauz stashed away in the back of my garage. Glad to see that you found the FordBarn.

I get to Germany often and was there most recently two weekends ago for the Oldtimermarkt in Lipsheim, Fance (just south of Strasbourg). Did you go to Veterama last weekend?

If you have any questions - just post it here on FordBarn - someone will know the answer.

Brad in Maryland

Welcome to the best Model A resourse in the internet. I also have many great memories of Germany. Served 6 years there, my last in Heidelberg from 1987-1990. My son's name is Werner Hans. We love German Food. Welcome again.

Because the A´s from 1927 habe the emergency brake inside left, not bevor the gearshaft.
An they have only one brake system for the drivers brake and the emergency brake!

Welcome to the Barn, Tommy. Your web site is nice. While reading it, I noticed the word Schwiegermuttersitz which apparently describes the rumble seat. While my ancestors came from Maintz, I don't speak German but muttersitz sounds like mother's seat. Does Schwieger mean in-law? Do you call the rumble seat mother-in-law's seat?

Glen

Hi Tommy,

welcome to the barn.
We both share some characteristics :-)

1. I'm a newbie at the barn like you.
2. I own a Model A .... what a surprise :D

but I'm from Essen as well

Where are you located in Essen?

Greetings
Daniel

According to the Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines the switch
to the separate emergency brake system started in April 1928 and was
not completed until June 1928.

Both my 1928 Tudor Sedan (Canadian built) and my 1928 Standard Roadster (US built) are both May '28 cars. Both have the parking/emergency brake on the left, if that helps.

Google Translate confirms your suspicions:

Schwiegermuttersitz = Mother-in-law's seat

I was in Germany a couple weeks ago and ran to a guy that had a restoration shop in Kirchboitzen ..he said he had 5 Model A's a Mustang and a few other cars ...was leaving the next day so I never got a chance to see his
cars
