The Janitor

This part called the janitor, I'm thinking about installing one. Are they difficult to install? Do they bolt on? Thanks in advance

Louieglen, I have one on my Town Sedan. It was given to me when I bought the car because the PO thought it had a rear main leak. So I installed it. Turned out most of the oil was coming from the oil return pipe.

I installed it anyway but my rear main doesn't leak much. The diaper seems to work OK. I put a "feminine napkin" in it and change it once a month.

It is a "snap on - snap off" installation. The holes are large enough to just snap over the bolt heads. Very simple to do and keeps any drips off the driveway.

it should be renamed to the
sanitation engineer:D

i have never needed it because i am still trying to figure out whats causing my motors to not leak:confused: this has been an ongoing issue:o

I've got the same problems as Mitch//pa in post #9 above.

Janitor? Fix the problem, not the symptom.

I used the Janitor for a while, along with absorbent pads, just as a Band-Aid for the symptoms, but only until I fixed the problem. Now the janitor has it's special place on the shelf in my garage as a gentle reminder of days gone past.

wow
i should have patented mine back in 1970
works on rear main and rear end both,, universal fit
its never failed me
we used to keep one inside the car also
it was for the kids as there wernt bathrooms every exit or corner

Hey Mot:
Your crazy man, love it.
Very old school

I put a rubber stopper in mine to simplify emptying. Drove it like this for three years before getting a real fix. Gotta do whatcha gotta do.
