The importance of cc's?

Obviously when building a high performance flathead it is very important to equalise the cc's of the combustion chambers, but I wonder what difference it makes on a stock engine? The specs for stock heads list a variance of 2 or 3 cc's. This means that even a brand new flathead is going to have uneven compression across the cylinders. Am I thinking too much? :D

I don't think you can measure the difference of 2-3cc's. I made a compression ratio tester that is quite accurate. Unfortunately I haven't checked very many engines, as they have to be in a stand. I did find that measuring the comb chamber, adding 15cc and using My chart is close. I verified this with my CR checker. After I prove the tool I print the directions so youse guys can make one.
