Nah, I probably done with that 'Chapter' in our lives. It was great, and we have many great experiences and friendships because of it, but back then the financial and time commitment was staggering. At present, I'm not sure I would be willing to allot the amount it would take to be competitive in both of those areas.
As far as the MAP sensor, during the '90s, competition was really intense and people were looking for any kind of advantage over the other guy, ...with many of them bordering on ridiculous!! People were using a Nascar-type vehicle as a prototype for their antique race car engineering and doing stuff like installing two modern shocks per wheel, redundant everything (fuel pumps, radiators, coils, ignition systems, batteries, etc.) with the mindset that if it broke that day, then they could switch over to the back-up system. I don't suppose it ever donned on them that if they put one top quality piece that was installed correctly, that it would be good enough. THAT is why I made the comment about a Model A that could win without the tricks, the secrets, or all the quasi high-tech garbage that caused them to have failures or drop out of the race.
If you are considering doing the race, I think you should go for it.
