Dad had this garage in 1946 and sold use cars. Dad started in 1932 after he got out of college. He taught school one year and that was not for him.Dad bounce around working for a another car dealer and saved his money then started his own garage.Dad ran his garage until he was 82.He was a tough one and the day he pass away was going to drive to Florida.I was working for Ford in the Assembly plant in Ohio and Dad wanted to sell so I bought the garage in 1972.I still read the wanted adds looking for a job but just looking I guess. Here a picture of Dads garage in 1946

Wow, To have a college education in 1932 was a big deal. Sounds like your dad was a fine man. Do you still own the garage?

Absolutely enjoyed this picture.

WHERE was the garage located...town?
WHAT was the street address?
Is the building still in use?
How long did the business operate...1946 to 19??
What brand of gasoline was sold?
It appears that on the second floor, right in the middle of the building is a door. In a prior time was the building used for something else?

Please excuse all my questions but old service stations and car dealership just fascinate me. As my wife tells me "It doesn't take much to keep your mind occupied."

I wish the picture AND the building itself could talk.

Hi Ken, nice to see you on the FordBarn. People have been asking about you on the ChevyBarn (non-Chevy side). Hope you're doing well and that you and Barb have a wonderful Christmas. Vic

Back in the early 70 I had a 57 Chevy 2 door HT loaded sunvisor, cont kit and one day Dad car was in the shop. So I gave him my 57 to drive. That the first time he ever drove one of my junkers as he called them.He did enjoy it and I was glad I did do that.

Redneck...................
Good to see you back on, not seen you for a while.
Photoshop can take that crease right out of your photo.
Love that photo, by the way.
I can see so many people saying, "What the hell is a runnaway ramp ?"
