The earliest 1930 Gas Tank...

IT IS THOUGHT BUT NOT YET PROVEN (maybe never will be) that the very first 1930 production gas tanks had NO embossment's for the cowl band AND that there were NO verticle reenforcement ribs on the back of the tank.

Have you ever seen or do you have one of these tanks if in fact they do exist?

Early tanks that do exist are those with NO embossing for the cowl band AND the two verticle ribs; and those tanks with three (3) 1/2 inch embossings for the cowl band and NO verticle ribs on the back of the tank.

Thanks.

Here is what Steve is looking for, a tank like this one with no ribs on the front (engine side) and no embossing nubs for the cowl band
Anyone out there have one like that?

I don't have one personally, but there was one in a very early '30 Coupe I did some work on for a customer several years ago.

The car also had eyebrow fenders and other early 1930 features. I will look and see if I have any photos of it.

Thanks Luke...That would be great if you do.
