Testing 1940 Ford Coil

Can anyone tell me how to test a coil for spark? I just bought a new one from Mac's for a 1940 Ford with helmet style distributor problem is, it produces no spark. I had to put the old one back on the car.

Step 1. Put your MACs coil in the scrap
Setp 2. Find an original Ford coil and send it to skip.

These reproduction coils are not reliable.

harry, I see you are a new member. Welcome aboard the Ford Barn! Skip Haney down in Florida will rebuild an original Ford coil that will work. The reproduction coils just do not work well. You have come to the right place for all your flathead queries. We'll be glad to help you in any way possible.
 
Thank you for the input, I have found most parts are from China and not of correct size or quality. Do you have a contact for Skip Haney in Florida?
 
Thanks I will contact him in the next month for this problem. What size engine do you need the crank for? I will keep my eyes open for one.
 
I only know of crank for 221 crank that is need of regrind at this time. I will keep looking for you. Again thanks for your help.
