Test spark plug wires

Put some water in a spray bottle. Mist the engine around the sparkplugs and distributor with the water. Start engine. Shut the lights off in the garage. Watch for sparks and listen for clicking (arcing) sounds.

Or, you can do what I've occasionally done. With engine running remove plug wires from plugs one at a time with bare hands. If you jump and scream the wires are working.

Like the others have said use some water and amonia mixed and spray the caples looking for a arc.
Wire may be checked with a ohmeter as well end for end. Anything over 20,000 ohms per cable may have a problem.

The lower the bettter actually.
And the most accepted is to use a lab scope watching each wires firing events.

WD 40 is a good cable insulation as well and should be used after spraying with water....
