Test Radiator and Gas Tank for leaks

I've really tired searching the forum - but no luck for my question.
I'm not too far from starting up my totally rebuilt CCPU... have to install the cab and gas tank and of course take care of wiring and battery.

So tonight I decided to plug up the upper and lower inlets of my radiator and poured in about a quart of water. The radiator leaked at the top, and took a pee on my foot from a hole in the core. So I'm sure a new radiator is in the future.

On to the gas tank. It has been sandblasted, looks pretty clean on the inside (no sand) - and I've shot it with primer to keep the surface rust down - and I was thinking I would also paint it the finish color on the inside and bottom.
I saw another post that said the radiator shops hate checking / repairing tanks if they are painted.
I hate to put gas in it to check for leaks, but I'm sure water isn't a good choice either.
Thoughts?

Any good radiator shops in the area? Long time in business or ex. reputation? Any close 'A' owners you could call/ask for radiator repair shops they've had experience with? You can always spend $$$ for a new radiator but see if yours can be repired first.

Gas tank should be checked, cleaned, sealed, & tested by a professional shop.
Use 'search' feature on FB for 'gas tanks.' This should give you more info.
I used Moyer's gas tank Renu in Greensburg,Pa. They did an excellent job on my quite rusty tank. 800-328-9550 m-f Ask for Jim Prinkey. Get done right while it's out of car. You will be glad you did.

Yea - my long time favorite radiator shop sold out - and I haven't heard good things about the new owners.
Great Idea about the Model A owners - We have a group of about 15 guys who meet on Wednesday mornings in Liberty - Haven't been to breakfast for way too long. I'll check with Chili. :D
