How can I use a temperature gage on a 1934 Ford V8 flathead?
The 1934 water pump has no provision for a temperature sender.
The 1935 water pumps do have a provision for a temperature sender but nobody makes new ones.

Bob Drake makes them - See > https://bobdrake.com/products/1935-36-v8-waterpump-pair

Revive your cooling system and prolong engine life by installing fresh pumps. Not rebuilt, but all-new inside and out. The LH pump has a threaded, temperature socket. Comes with mounting gasket and brass socket-plug for use on LH side (when temperature bulb is not used). R.H. same as 32-34 and L.H. has Temp. Bulb socket. Redesigned Impeller for Increased Coolant Flow Ceramic Seals Smoother Inner Surfaces for Improved Coolant Flow Sealed Bearings (no need to grease) Gaskets included. Pair.

Originally there was a fitting placed in the upper radiator hose . But if you’re not worried about what’s correct then use the later pump with the port for the temp gauge.

If your gauge is an original dualtemp you will need to have an adapter made. The original dualtemp has a female threaded nut .The port on the 35,36 w/pump has female threads.
