temp sending unit location

I have a 47 Ford, and I also have the single sender on the driver side and double post on passenger side? Do you know for sure if the double post goes on the driver side on a 47 and would it make any difference in the temp reading?

I ask because recently I saw 38 conv. ask a similar question and 41ford1 replied to the above that the double post goes on drive side head, which would indicate my sender was put in on the wrong side, do I need to change? or was the 46 thru 48 changed opposite heads. again does it change the reading, doesn't seem like it would.

sorry for any confusion.

Here is a shot of the wiring diagram for the temp sensors. This should clarify the position of the switch and the sensing unit. The wire from the gauge goes to the switch. A wire goes to from the second terminal of the switch accoss the engine to the one teminal sensor. If you have the switch on the right side head you may have trouble getting the wire to the guage to reach it. If your harness is like mine it runs between the left head and manifold with a short break out to make the hookup to the switch.
