The original Moto-Meters were not designed to gauge the water temperature by touching the water. They pick up the temperature
readings from the air inside the top tank of the radiator. I run original
Ford script Moto-Meters on my 2 A's and have found that they are more
then adequate to keep me "as one" with my A.
Plus, If 'ol Henry thought they were good enough then they are good enough for me.
I have also found that the original Meters are a lot more accurate then
the repop ones.
But, anything is better then nothing.
