Teds Floaters

Mike and Dusty - I ended up with the Snyder's 5.5:1 head and used the modern head gasket -so far so good. When we rebuilt the motor I installed new babbited bearing caps (the babbit in the block was good). As other's have attested the HC head made a noticable improvement and I would highly recommend it.

As far as the floaters, I am still struggling a bit with the setup but now think I have figured out what I may have done incorrectly as I still have some drag. Ted Spain has been a termendous help by email and I found the articles at http://www.ocmafc.org/ which have some good tips. I had completely redone my brakes (drums, linings, bushings, links, rollers, tracks etc.) and the stock brakes work really well, however, I wanted to try the floaters and I would say that they are a definate improvement in reduced braking effort and improved responsiveness. Think I just have to play around with them a bit more.
