Taller Rear Tires

So, it sounds like the 550/600s are a fairly common upgrade. I agree that they do look good in the posted pictures. Thank you for that. Looks like they give a 2" increase in dia and 0.8" in tread width over original. I see that Coker also offers a 650 tire but has no specs listed for it. Anyone have any info on fit of the 650 or larger tires?

650 will rub the brake rods when turning. Won't really work on a model A.

My Coker catalog shows the BF Goodrich 600-650X19 to have a diameter of 31.25 inches, this will probably only work on the rear. Firestone shows the diameter of the 550x19 and the 650X 19 to be the same at 31.25 inches. The Firestone 700X19 has a diameter of 32.75 inches. The Firestone 700X19 may work on the rear. I only have experience with the 550X19 Firestone tires on the rear of a 30 Briggs town sedan. Experiences may vary. The speedometer didn't work but after I got it moving, the old town sedan would haul ***!!

I use a converted Columbia OD (2-speed axle) with 4.11 gears & 2.94 OD ratio.I use firestone tires as they are at least 1" taller than other makes & I prefer the looks of them. The OD & taller tires make for low RPM at 60 mph cruising speed.
