Take your pick

Yup…..Bents……the reason I know this is, a friends son was a big fan of roller coasters…his parents took him to a few of the bigger ones East of the Miss. River. He made a model of his favorite and I learned the term …..his father told me he was cutting small pieces of wood for a month….more Fun Facts Few people care about to Follow…..LOL……Mark

Never get tired of learning something new! Remembering is the hard part. I was gonna says "masts" so good I kept my yapper shut.

Well Mark, it's pretty obvious by the way it leans and twists all over that the roller coaster in that photo was framed entirely of 'bents'. Upon studying the blueprints the contractor went to the back corner of the lumber yard where they stored the pile of crooked lumber that folks had high-graded out. There was a cardboard sign over the heap that just said 'bents' 1/2 off.

They keep sending the "bents" out on deliveries hoping you can make cripples out of them. Lotta mileage on some of them!

I remember the "Wild Mouse" roller coaster at Riverside Park in Agawam, Mass. It was just as was said before. You took the front seat, and thought that you were going to get dumped out of the car. I have ridden big roller coaster's, but none gave me the thrill that the "Wild Mouse" did.

Gary….34fordy……I had complete confidence that you two would have a precise explanation for the odd name……good job men!………Mark

I would love to ride that roller coaster! I've ridden a lot of them, but that one looks like a real fun ride.

Nothing quite like a wooden roller coaster! :D me, too... have ridden a few in my time. but won't ride them ever again! was at an amusement park, somewhere?? as i remember, all rides free that day. or for a period of time. anyways... i spied the BIG wooden roller coaster... and i rode it, n rode it... n rode it some more!! :D:D 12 times if my mem holds right! get off, run to start line and ride again. great, non-stop fun!! then a week or so later my back began to hurt! soon it was quite uncomfortable! :( that soon became bothersome... several months it went on. getting bit worse as the days dribbled by! finally, i had had too much, and the next day i planned to call my Dr and go see him.

then a miracle! the next day: no pain! all gone. i could hardly believe it, but, it was true. right then n there... i said to myself, "your days of ridding wooden roller coasters are over!!" lol :o

any, for that matter!
