Take a ride

It was a neat ride but I would have preferred hearing the sweet sound of the flathead in your '34 rather than the music....The music was okay though....

A group of us Model T owners would go to Lake Willoughby and travel around on the dirt roads up there, loads of good times and great memories. I forgot how nice the dirt roads were up there! I had a 1926 Model T Touring car at the time, an old timer buried me going up the hill from Newport, VT to Jay's Peak, he had a Ruckstell (I didn't). Traveled 12 miles up hill in low gear, talk about slow enough to watch grass grow!!! My left leg looked like I was a NFL lineman when I got to the top! You have to have driven a Model T to understand. Got a Ruckstell installed after that, a 1932 Ford after that and now a 46, no more issues going up hills!

hey man, thanks for the ride here in iowa its been warm enough but a crap load of sand and salt to take th:37 out. i allways would wach vids. of bikers out during winter here. i love that music with vid. but like petehoovie said lets hear the drive train. thanks again, tom

You have some great content in that over the hood video and I hate to be a critic. I'd have shot it with the phone tilted to the side so you get more of a panoramic view. The vertical view gives tunnel vision. Still good stuff and keep on shooting.

Thanks Ken !Love the R & B, but like petehovie said, we need some sweet flathead sounds too. Nothing better than than an air conditioner that never fails........

Thanks for all the comments, The vid was this past summer, I got my son and daughter to help me figure out how to post it and add music. I will try to make a new and improved one with a wide view. maybe some twice pipe noise too. Just seems nice to see this stuff wile we wait for summer. 34 hibernating for now. Ken

Ken, we're practically neighbors and looks like we have the same car! Loved your video!
Doug.

Shoe Box Jack, a Ruckstell is a two speed rear axle for a Model T, it is a underdrive not a overdrive rear axle. It gives you a lower gear and has a shifter, usually used when in high gear and you hit a tough hill, you shift the Ruckstell into low and you have a lower gear to keep momentum up. Has straight cut gears so you can shift into low without a clutch. Shifting into high takes a little clutch and throttle work. A Ruckstell and Rock Mountain Brakes make a Model T a whole different car to drive, and a heck of a lot safer (unless its raining).
