Tail Light Wiring

Factory clip position would only apply to the main loom from the light switch area back to the tail light. I replaced an old reproduction so I cannot help, as usual. Bob

if my memory is right it takes a little diffeent cliip and goes on the skirt of the fender on the drivers side....there is 3 going down the frame spaced out and the forth one is on the skirt.....maybe marco can correct me or Don Turley if he reads this.

I used an adell clamp and one screw through the sub rail. Not judging standards correct but it keeps the wire off the tire. I also used 3 in the cross rail to hold the wire to the passengers side light.

Please note that the post above is dealing with 29 cars. Not sure the wiring on the 1930s are the same.

I went over and looked at the local "barn find" '30 coupe that's been sitting since at least 1946 that we know of. No telling if it's 1930 factory stock.

The wires run down the frame, clipped in 3 places. Last clip is about a foot from rear of body on frame rail.

Then there is about 2 inches of wire to bullet connectors to tail light harness which is run through old fabric type wire loom tube, looped under fender mount brace (touches but no clamp/support etc) to tail light.

I suppose tire could get in the way, doesn't look like it has. Still works.

Bratton's gives the number of clips and location in their catalogue
2012 issue, pages 92 & 93 items 20660 and 20820
Hope this clarifies the situation. Grant
