Tail light for a 30 coupe

We have all the wiring hooked up to our tail light assembly. There are two light bulbs one for the Tail light and one for the stop light. My question is when you turn the park lights on should the tail light be on as well? Should there be a light that shines on the license plate all the time? Or does it shine only when the brake light is on? Thank you

Heidi

The Tail Light has 2 bulbs. The upper/top bulb is the Stop Light and is lit when the brakes are applied. The lower/bottom bulb is the Tail Light and is ON when the Park Lights and the Head Lights are ON. The clear lens on the bottom of the lamp shell lights the license plate when either the Park Lights or Head Lights are ON.

Thank you for the information. Anyone know how to get the wires out of the back of the tail light so that we can get them in the correct order? Thank you.
Heidi

There should be a connection back under the car where the tail light ties into the wiring harness. Just swap the wires there.

Or the harder way :-( Remove two screws in the lense, remove bulbs, remove pig tails, green pig tail for upper, stop light bulb, reassemble. That took me longer to type than Carl's way :-)
