i am using a new wiring harness, a new stop light lamp which is the brighter one in the brattons catalog. i keep blowing lamps. the lamp will work but at some point in my travels its shot. no other lamps have blown, and ive gone through 2 stop lts so far. my next question to myself would be what is your generator amperage? i dont know. ill have to get that when i have access to an amprobe, but is that the only cause it could be or no?
 
Make sure that the glass lens is not putting pressure on the bulb, I had the same problem when I installed the lenses that have STOP on them, when you say you are using the brighter bulb do you mean the Halogen bulb?.
 
If the bulb says made in China, try to find an American made bulb. My original 1928 wrinkle glass Ford script brake bulb just blew a couple years ago.
