T5 trans swap yes or no?

I think that year S-10 T-5 has a Ford bolt pattern???????

93 had both Chevy and Ford pattern. I have verified mine is a chevy pattern and the # on the tag is 1352-232 according to a chart shows it is a 93 WC with ratios of 3.97 2.34 1.48 1.0 and .72

Any pics?

Nothing from past projects but I have one to do this summer in a 40 ford. Without a picture it might be hard to describe but to mount the wishbone ball it takes two of the caps. One is welded to the flat plate on the bottom of the x center then the other is bolted to it same as the stock set up. I made patterns from the past setups so it saves me time. Other way is buy the chassis engineering one and modify it. The nice thing that all of it bolts together so pulling the trans if needed is alot easier then a stocker with a torque tube

I've had a T5 behind my 8ba for about 12years now. Best move I've ever made with my 40. With a 3:50 rear I'm running 2200 rpm at 70 mph. Drove from Pa to Cruise the Coast last Oct and averaged 23 mpg running between 65 and 70. Probably could have done better since I always run more on the rich side. My T5 is a later model with the electric speedo. The T5 turns a flathead into a great cruiser. Go for it. Dan

Its a great conversion. I did my truck about 11 years ago using a Chassis Engineering bolt- in center tunnel clearance and transmission mounting kit (with out the split wishbones), a Corn Huskers T5 kit for the ****** and a Hot Rod Works kit for converting to an open drive line. If your handy you can build some (most) of the parts yourself.

OK narrowing things down a bit. If I run a 700-16 rear tire (30") and 4.11 gears behind my T5 with .72OD and stock 21 stud flathead the chart shows at 70mph I would be at 2306RPM /650-16 tire at 2384RPM

Do not plan on doing a ton of fwy driving... Would 4.11 be a good choice of gears to help give the old flatty some power around town and still have decent fwy driving?

Considering the stock tire size, 3 speed trans, and 3.77 gears the RPM would be 2909 at 65MPH and 2462RPM at 55MPH.
Does that seem like a good set up to you guys?

37 ford with T-5 and GM 10 bolt positrac rear out of a 87 Buick Grand National (identical backing plate to backing plate dimensions) and Chasis engineering parallel leaf kit.
Best thing I ever did!

IMHO with your math I would run the 4:11 gears. A flattie needs rpm in the 2000-2800 rpm range, 2400 being "the sweet spot" in my experience. I run 72 mph @ 2400 rpm.
